Rev. Tommy Hays is the Founder and Spiritual Director of Messiah Ministries, serving in ministry for nearly twenty-five years, which he leads with his wife, Rocio Caballero Hays now based in Fredericksburg, Texas.

Tommy is an ordained elder of the United Methodist Church, under special appointment as a Spiritual Director to lead Messiah Ministries as an interdenominational ministry stretching across the various streams of the Body of Christ. He is also a member of the MorningStar Fellowship of Ministries. His passion is seeing people set free from all that would hold them back from all they are created and to be in Christ. At home and abroad, through numerous international ministry trips and on an ongoing internet ministry, Messiah Ministries is “Preparing the Way of the Lord” in the hearts of God’s people and boldly proclaiming the Gospel of the Kingdom of God to the ends of the earth.

He was called to ministry from a successful law practice as a trial attorney, and is now a frequent speaker in conferences, retreats and churches, interdenominationally throughout the US and the nations. He is currently teaching a weekly equipping course at Bridge Church in Fredericksburg, arranging retreats and schools of ministry, meeting daily for personal prayer ministry and spiritual direction sessions, and preaching monthly evangelistic crusades in Pakistan Villages through the Internet. His daily prayer devotional, Morning by Morning, is sent to readers around the world and his book Free to Be Like Jesus—Transforming Power of Inner Healing & Deliverance is taught by many as a standard resource for prayer ministry and is endorsed Max Lucado, Randy Clark, and Andy Reese. His most recent book First the Spirit is very popular among those with a deep hunger for a more intimate spiritual relationship with the Lord.

Tommy’s degrees include a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary and a BBA and Doctor of Jurisprudence from The University of Texas at Austin. He serves on the Board of Ruah Retreat Ministries, Advisory Council of Aldersgate Renewal Ministries, and has served on the Boards of Rapha God Ministries, Spiritual Leadership, Inc., the National Christian Foundation-Kentucky, and as an Area Advisor for Aglow International.
